Yet, despite significant progress in governance, economy, and democratic standards, the road to EU membership remains long and uncertain \u2014 shaped by both domestic challenges and the shifting geopolitics of Europe itself.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From Isolation to Integration<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Albania\u2019s aspiration to join the EU began immediately after its political transition in the early 1990s.
